ANNOUNCEMENTS
Scouting for Food: The annual Scouting for Food drive food bag pick-up is Saturday April 28. We need scouts and their families and friends to come and help collect food for local food shelters. Please meet in the St. Pascal parking lot at 10 a.m. Rain or Shine.dress for the weather! You will be given your block assignment which should take approximately one hour. Adult drivers needed.
Troop 294 Summer High Adventure Trip - Cave Exploring at Maquoketa Caves August 1-5. Sign up and a $25 deposit is due ASAP This will be an adventure to the Maquoketa caves in Iowa with limestone formations and rugged bluffs. Caves vary from the 1,100' Dancehall Cave with walkways and lighting system to very snug Dugout Cave. Some caves can be explored by walking while others can best be seen by crawling. The park contains more caves than any other state park in Iowa. A trail system links the caves, formations, and overlooks providing an exciting hiking experience. Highlights include the "Natural Bridge" which stands nearly 50 feet above Raccoon Creek, and the 17-ton "Balanced Rock". C. Evans will be leading this trip. We need more adults to come.
Troop 294 Recognizes three new Eagle Scouts at a joint Eagle Scout Court of Honor: Scouts and families of Troop 294 please join us to recognize the achievements of Joe L, Matt R and Dominic R on Sunday May 6 at 4 p.m. in St. Pascal's Auditorium. A reception including a light dinner and cake will follow the ceremony. Please RSVP to Jim or Cindy R by Monday, April 30th
Scout Meeting - May 14 at the Aeling's: This meeting will be a busy one with Boards of Review in preparation for Spring Court of Honor and Summer Camp Merit Badge Sign-up.
Spring Court of Honor: The Spring Court of Honor and Annual Pot Luck Dinner is scheduled for Monday May 21. We need an adult or two to coordinate the pot luck selections, set up the serving tables, prepare refreshments and oversee clean-up. Please see Ellen if you are interested.
The Aeling's are moving - The Aeling will be moving from their house on Darlene Street to Oakdale, So things may get a bit crazy. We will be moving sometime in early June and preparing our house on Darlene Street for sale. So if you know of anyone that would like to buy a large lovely house in the Battle Creek area, let us know soon before we hire a realtor. First, we purposely bought a house in the area because we want to stay involved with St Pascal's and its scouting program. Second, In June we may be at one house or we may be at the other so before you come over to our house, please give us a call on our cell and find out where we are.
